My Beach Rubbish Experiment
Hello, my name is Mia and I’m reporting on how much rubbish I found on a beach this summer. I visited One Mile Beach, Port Stephens, NSW with my family and some friends. At a glance the beach looked beautiful and I did not notice any rubbish. After spending a few days playing on the beach I saw that there was litter from a drink carton. Then I noticed a few more bits, and more, and more.
Storm Water Pollutants
Did you know that you don’t have to live close to the beach for your community to pollute the oceans?
Have you ever noticed those holes in the side of the road? Perhaps your cricket ball has disappeared down one of them? They are called storm water drains.
A storm water drain. Can you spot the mud, dried grass and leaf that could be washed down this drain?
